Slow loading of new files, clearing out all but one file in the recent section fixed the problem, fresh files now load instantaneously.

Hi Antonis-

I don't know if this problem had been discussed before. If so, I appologize.

I have noticed that HiEditor has been loading files slower and slower lately.

A fresh file takes over 4 seconds to load.

After playing around for an hour with old versions and anything else I could think of, I took a look at the ini file. It had 368 files listed in the [RECENT] section. Clearing out all but one file in the recent section fixed the problem, fresh files now load instantaneously.

Is there some way to speed up the startup code that handles the [RECENT] section?

Not that I really need 400 files in the recent section, but the problem crept up on me so slowly, it took a long time to decide something had to be done. At least now I know the problem.

Perhaps a warning/nag every 100 files or so?

Just thought I'd let you know, I'm back up to 190 files in my recent files list already, so I'm really using HiEditor B)

And yes, it's getting annoyingly slow to load a new file, so time to clear out the list again.

Perhaps a maximum number of files to remember setting?

Hi Jim,

So when the recent files section becomes really big, opening files becomes slower. Thanks a lot for letting me know. I 'll see what I can do about it.
