I use 'Royal' official theme bundled with Windows Media Center Edition and in this theme menu background is white. Now I understand that 'Close' button is menu item, so it's displayed like other menus.
I attached screenshot with 2 windows:
Back one is with usual theme menu look and the second (topmost) is with fixed menu.
so, now all is clear for me.

If I need to convert win file to unix-style file, I'll select such command from HiEditor menu or at Save-As command I'll choose between [No change | CR+LF (Win) | CR (Mac) | LF (Unix)] as caret return

i think HiEditor should also detect if the file is Unix/Win/Mac-style and when pressing Enter should insert the correct end line style, and saving the file defaults to save it as it was. mixing them is not good.

and between [ANSI | OEM | UTF-16 | UTF-16BE | UTF-8] as codepage.

agree 100%, with the same considerations as above.

a little problem: the two edit boxes in the options dialog are multiline, typing an enter will add extra lines to the INI file and possibly corrupt things.
the edit boxes are the "open/save filter" and the "syntax highlight".

also, the syntax highlight button on the right is small and shows only two dots "..", should be same size of the color one.

you're absolutely right wink.gif
in some cases HiEditor may check first 4KB of text for mixed CR/LF symbols and prompt to convert to one style.
