i have another question about the syntax highlight.
if i define two different sections for the same file extension what will happen?
it would really be helpful if both were taken into consideration in the mechanism.

i explain why.
inside a php script may happen pieces of html code. so i can define a section for html and one for php and have automatically included the html into php.

ex.
CODE

[html,htm,php,php3]
0x00bbbbbb=html body title...

[php,php3]
0x00bbbbbb=php for if.....

clear?

ps. thanks for the improvements! smile.gif
i am liking it quite a lot!

If you write a PHP section, please share it... rolleyes.gif

@Antonis

I have a very quick suggestion. Not sure how easy...

Imagine you are writing HTML. You want to write most lines to a standard length, say around 120 characters, so the HTML produced is readable. If there was a vertical guideline in the window at 120 characters (that you could toggle on/off and set placing as an option) that would be a great help. Obviously this should only be used with monospaced fonts.

Note we aren't talking about chopping the line, just having a visual guide so that the line-ends can be made fairly consistent. Although an auto-return (on space character) when the guide is passed might be an interesting possibility too... cool.gif Generally I start with a good linelength, but by the time three or four pages have scrolled up, it's drifted longer and longer and I have to re-edit, which is tedious.

Only the first will be taken into account.

Very clear. I had already thought about it, let me think if it can be done without any serious panalty.

I am glad you like HiEditor
