Antonis...

Perhaps you can find a use for this and all is not lost?

Also... maybe we should encourage other members to share ideas and graphics for updating the site?

This graphic was created by pasting pieces together from various base graphics, then animating with MS Gif Animator.(free download)

Enjoy!

Nice. Hehe... looks like trophy guy caught chiken pox on my CRT though.

Had I not used spining helicopter blades, a slower rate of decent, plus ascent... the helicopter guy would be a much smaller .gif.

I could still create something like this around the same file size in a 600 pixel strip, just no extra animation aside from ascending and decending. :(

I believe it took me 42 frames to acomplish this, just for this 53 pixel strip helicopter scenario.

It wouldn't have taken so many if you could reuse frames and just specify positions and delays. Unless I missed something. Seems .gif format lacks some efficency?

What did you use for animation Antonis?

I bet you used under ten frames huh? I chose MS-GA since the embedded animator in PP8.0 is not as flexible. Plus its window is always on top with no minimize control, which I can't stand! Makes it a pain to toggle between editor and animator to load/edit frames.

Large graphics file sizes aren't a problem except for us dial-up users. FiOS, or broadband would be really great. In due time I guess.

Also...

You asked me to take my time, which I will. Partly to come up with something good, but also since I gotta' eat! :D

I lined up a window replacent job for the next three days. We are getting a very late Indian Summer. Temps in the 50's to 60's until Saturday, rain mid-week, then snow on the weekend. We'll see what I can come up with in the evenings or late at night.

Basically I can't pass up the work at the moment. Love that type of work, decent money for a change.

Be patient. I will come up with some goodies. B)

Again... other members are encouraged to post submittions for site grapics. ;)

Some tips would be, as Antonis suggested...

1. File sizes up to 30kb for .gif animations, smaller is better. (fast load times for our low bandwidth users)

2. Color pallettes that compliment the current color schemes of the site.

3. I'm guessing here, but .GIF or .JPG only. (Antonis, please clarify?)

4. Be creative. ;)

Hi guys,

Antonis asked me to create a new site banner so I thought it might be a good idea to ask for outside input too.

We worked on the text logo earlier today.(now yesterday for Antonis)

He likes the chrome plated text. What do you think? Smaller, bigger, just right, colors?

Antonis also wants a different logo. Something more complex.

I was asked to use the exisiting logo and use the gradient colors from the background of the banner to make it blend better. Plus make it bigger.

We stuck the current logo in new banner temporarily. Help!!!

Let me know what you'd like to see and your thoughts on current text in logo.

One last thing. Antonis specifically said. "No animation." He likes things simple and fast loading. No distractions.

Darn it might be kinda cool with 1's & 0's moving on the page of the logo, maybe under a spyglass.

Anyway...

The focus being on the Forums/Google ad's, and site content.

We also want to make improvements to the Protools page. Graphics, samples and submissions welcome.

I'm looking forward to some suggestions and help with this so I can get some IDE time back. ;)

Sea.
