I use H2Viewer which is a Help2 file viewer (it's free). It works with MSDN, it also works with the Platform SDK documentation. I have it set up in WinAsm, use the Tools Manager to set it up. Note: I was unable to get Tools Manager to accept both the executable and arguments (for the name of the help file), so I created a link and pointed Tools Manager to the link. It works.

revolver and msdnl add-ins are for this purposes. they are old (will lost hotkeys on mui switching - if you do this only), but still usable.

regards!

thanx guys,
I'm not having much luck configuring any of these, I'll keep trying, or maybe the msds I'm using is the wrong version... I got it off a c++ disk that dates back about 5 years. it has a bunch of .chm's a bunch of .chi's, one .chw, and a .col

Runner,

I see, H2Viewer is for the latest style help called Help2. It won't work with HTML Help (.chm). H2Viewer will work with the documentation that comes with the latest Platform SDK. I would recommend downloading it, it's up-to-date.

In Tools Manager you can set up a menu item that loads a .chm file directly.
