I don't know what site Xacker posted, but the only related rule I can find is-

QUOTE
4. Do not post any attachments, or link to content that has anything to do with malicious code, or material that is subject to, or aiming at, copyright infringement. (Including, but not limited to: keygenerators, file-patchers, memory-patchers, patched binaries of commercial / shareware applications, applications aiming at dumping / intercepting / bypassing / emulating software protection technologies).

Reverse engineering in and of itself is not prohibited, malicious, or illegal.

I was pointing at an exact location in the website, it's a research website after all not some WAREZ website.

assume you have 1 place to learn math, but that place contains pictures of pornography and you feel offended by them, do you skip the website?
no I just have images loading disabled and I go straight to the math section.. lousy example eh biggrin.gif

anyway, do what your conscience tells you to, not what the book of rules say.
If it's the only place to acquire some knowledge about something rare, then let it be, IMHO.

After all assembly programmers are reverse engineers in nature wink.gif

and I must say I agree with JimG.

p.s: I will PM the topic owner with the link.
