I have search but could not find a similar problem to mine, please help..wink.gif

When I try to compile the RC file strange things happen, it change the format of the icon and bitmap files that I can not view them anymore.

I then erase this icon and bitmaps, copy the new good ones in the folder again and try to compile the RC again but same thing happens.

Here is the error line:
LINK : fatal error LNK1181: cannot open input file "C:\Users\xxx\Documents\ASM\AsmEditV5\Projects\Flux Ports\Flux Ports.res"

I can maybe add that if I use the Compile RC from the menu there are no errors generated but also no RES file created in the project folder.

Thanx

Can you post your WinASM project so we can take a look at it?

I found this software on the internet and am trying to successfully compile it. I do not know in which language it was written originally but i have tried to adapt it to MASM.

If I compile this same file with AsmEdit it works no problem, well it compiles without errors but the program does not works yet..wink.gif

Thanks for the help

Well, if you try to assemble your source, you WILL get errors from ML... there is uninitialized data in your data section it should be in .data?

to fix your rc problem... double click on flux ports.rc then double click on included files and remove all files from the dialog that shows up... you don't need to include those files... resource.h riched.h etc... then try compiling rc and you will get a res file

that source is a mess!
